Recently ten year 7 and 8 indigenous students, along with Ms Bailey and Mr Hoolihan attended the Indigenous Tennis Carnival in Broadmeadow.
It was a day of celebration of culture, creativity, and community spirit. Participants engaged in a variety of cultural activities, including decorating paper boomerangs, where they learned the intricate designs passed down through generations.
The event also featured a unique challenge of building the tallest structures out of straw, fostering teamwork and innovation among the attendees. Amidst these activities, tennis coaching sessions provided an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the sport, promoting physical fitness and camaraderie.
The day was a testament to the power of working together, honouring Indigenous heritage, and embracing the joy of shared experiences.
