College Community
Celebrating Faith, Belonging and Community
This year we launched the Foundations for Inflaming Hearts & Minds in Christ, linking them closely to our College’s core values. Inspired by the life and faith of St Brigid, these Foundations call our students to live out these values each day. Throughout this term, both students and staff have embraced opportunities to witness Christ’s teachings within the College and the wider community.
Year 7 CSBB Belonging Day
On Wednesday 25th February, our Year 7 students travelled with their Religion teachers to the Light of Christ Centre at St Leo’s College, Waitara, for the CSBB Belonging Day. This event is a highlight on the diocesan calendar and offers a joyful welcome to Year 7 students as they begin their journey within the Broken Bay Catholic community.
The day strengthened relationships between students and teachers and supported students in their early faith formation. Our Year 10 Youth Ministry students also played an important role, leading and supporting small groups throughout the program. The day concluded with a special blessing from Mr Murdoch as the students begin their high school journey. Thank you to Mrs Giblin and Mrs Tenev for their planning and organisation.
College Swimming Carnival
Another Term 1 highlight was our College Swimming Carnival. More than a sporting event, the carnival celebrates House spirit, teamwork, and community. The day began with ideal weather as students participated in a variety of swimming and novelty events. Unfortunately, a sudden thunderstorm and lightning brought the program to an early close.
Despite the disappointment, our students and staff displayed exceptional cooperation, care, and compassion. Students supported and included one another, listened with empathy, and ensured everyone felt valued—truly living out our core value of Compassion. Congratulations to Kildare House on winning the carnival, and thank you to Mrs Ardern for her outstanding organisation.
Kildare House Spirituality Day
On Friday 13th March, Kildare House gathered for the first Spirituality Day of the year. This day focused on strengthening the core values of compassion, courage, wisdom, and stewardship while deepening students’ understanding of Christ’s teachings.
The day began with a beautiful liturgy centred on the Gospel, followed by icebreaker activities led by Year 10 Youth Ministry students. Students then participated in two sessions: one exploring the College Foundations with Mrs Walters, and another engaging with prayer stations facilitated by Mrs Tenev and Sister Josie. These experiences enriched students’ faith journeys, built House spirit, and deepened their understanding of the Catholic worldview.
Evangelisation
This term we celebrate four students from St Brigid’s Catholic College who will be welcomed into the Church: Brando A, Eva M, Brock F, and Isiah P. These young people have made the courageous decision to become Catholic, and we pray for them as they continue to grow in faith and walk with the Lord. We also acknowledge and thank the staff members who have been chosen as their sponsors – Mr Barnes, Mrs Hosking, and Mrs Tenev – for supporting them on their journey.
Together in faith.

Assistant Principal – Evangelisation & Catechesis
