Foundations for Inflaming Hearts & Minds in Christ – Witness to Christ’s Teaching and Values
As we continue to grow as a Christ‑centred learning community, our 2026 focus, Foundations for Inflaming Hearts and Minds in Christ, reflects our commitment to nurturing both the spiritual and academic development of every student. Inspired by the life of St Brigid, her deep love of Christ and her example of service, these foundations align directly with our College’s core values and call our students to live them out each day. At our College, we look to Jesus Christ and the example of St Brigid to guide the way we learn, act, speak, and treat one another. To witness Christ’s teachings means living our faith not only in prayer but in the everyday choices we make, showing compassion, courage, wisdom, and stewardship in all we do.
This term, our focus is on being positive role models and encouraging every student to witness Christ’s values in their words and actions. We celebrate students who demonstrate these Foundations and work closely with those who are developing the skills needed in areas of growth.
Parents and carers play a vital role in this partnership by reinforcing these Foundations at home, supporting respectful behaviour, and encouraging children to take responsibility for their learning and choices. Together, we can continue to build a safe, respectful, and truly Christ‑centred environment where every student is supported to flourish.

- College Opening and Feast Day Mass
Year 7 and Year 12 students came together for a special Mass, symbolising both new beginnings and final journeys. Year 7 students were welcomed with a blessing from Fr Tomy, received their College badges, and witnessed the lighting of the Year 7 candle for the first time, a symbol of hope as they start their St Brigid’s journey. - Family Mass – 7 February
Our Family Mass at St Brendan’s welcomed Kindergarten and Year 7 students and their families into both the school and parish community. A Smoking Ceremony opened the celebration, fostering connection to Country and a sense of belonging. The focus on Kildare House brought wonderful spirit, with students proudly wearing their House colours. - Shrove Tuesday – 16 February
Students marked Shrove Tuesday by enjoying pancakes while raising funds for Caritas. This tradition reminds us to prepare for Lent through generosity and reflection. - Ash Wednesday – 17 February
To begin Lent, students attended a morning liturgy and received ashes made from last year’s Palm Sunday palms. This ritual calls us to humility, reflection, and action as we support others, especially through Project Compassion.
