St Brigid’s Year 9 and 10 students recently attended Smashed Live, an engaging and impactful alcohol safety education presentation. The program combined realistic dramatised scenarios with interactive questioning and open discussion to highlight the risks and real-life consequences associated with underage drinking.
Throughout the session, students were guided through situations that young people commonly face, encouraging them to consider how alcohol can influence judgement, relationships, and personal safety. By pausing the action at key moments, the presenters prompted students to reflect on the characters’ choices and to propose safer, more responsible alternatives.
The experience encouraged critical thinking around peer pressure, decision-making, and personal responsibility, helping students to better understand how their choices can affect both themselves and others. Overall, Smashed Live provided a supportive space for students to explore these themes and to build confidence in making informed, healthy decisions.
