Foundations for Inflaming Hearts & Minds in Christ – A 2025 Focus

By October 24, 2025 No Comments

As we continue to grow as a Christ-centred learning community, our 2025 focus, “Foundations for Inflaming Hearts & Minds in Christ,” reflects our commitment to nurturing both the spiritual and academic development of every student.

This year, we’ve identified a key area for improvement: classroom behaviour management. It has become clear that consistency in behaviour expectations and management is essential for student safety, learning success, and overall wellbeing.

In Term 4, we launched the Foundations for Inflaming Hearts & Minds in Christ, linking them directly to our College’s core values. These foundations are being implemented with staff and students this term and will be refined for full integration in 2026.

Inspired by the life of St Brigid and her love of Christ, our students are called to live out the College’s core values each day:

COMPASSION

Reaching out with love, kindness and empathy.

  • Arrive on time and enter calmly.
  • Respect others’ space and privacy.
  • Rebuild trust through restorative conversations.

COURAGE

Standing strong in faith and doing what is right, even when it’s hard.

  • Assist others and report concerns.
  • Speak up respectfully and promote inclusion.
  • Use technology responsibly.

WISDOM

Seeking truth and understanding through faith, learning, and reflection.

  • Be prepared with equipment and resources.
  • Respect classroom layout and shared items.
  • Engage in prayer and care for the environment.

 STEWARDSHIP

Caring responsibly for God’s creation and the gifts we’ve been given.

  • Be in the right place at the right time.
  • Keep spaces clean and tidy.
  • Bring a charged laptop and stay focused.

These foundations apply across all areas of College life—from entering classrooms and engaging in lessons, to using technology and interacting within the community.

A Shared Responsibility

For these foundations to truly flourish, everyone in our community must play a part:

  • Teachers must be consistent, accountable, and supportive of one another.
  • Students are expected to uphold the values in their daily actions, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Parents and carers play a vital role by reinforcing these expectations at home, supporting respectful behaviour, and encouraging their children to take responsibility for their learning and actions.

Together, we can create a safe, respectful, and Christ-centred environment where every student can thrive.

We thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in this important journey.

Warm regards,

Damien Tomsett
